Vistaro 1.9.12: open a folder of images and video, full screen

Vistaro is AuraBridge’s Mac App Store folder viewer — images and short video in one playlist, autoplay, speed and mute, Library recents. Version 1.9.12, $4.99 once, macOS 14+, local on your Mac.

Vistaro is the Mac folder viewer we built for work that already lives on disk: chart exports, trip stills, short demos, a day’s screenshots. You point it at a folder. It plays the set full screen — images and video together — without importing into Photos. On the Mac App Store it is a one-time $4.99 purchase. Apple’s lookup on 2026-08-28 lists version 1.9.12 (8 August 2026), macOS 14.0+, ~1087 KB.

What 1.9.12 is for

This release is about staying in the folder you opened:

  • Finder Open With keeps the running Vistaro window and brings the file you clicked into view.
  • Grant folder access while a clip is playing — the video stays on screen.
  • Autoplay interval and video speed are remembered for the next session.
  • Left and Right move through the whole playlist.
  • A compact bar with Navigate, Playback, and View — filename when you want it, chrome out of the way when you do not.
  • About Vistaro opens without closing the viewer.

Mixed media is the point. Stills autoplay. Clips scrub, mute, and run 0.5×–2×. Nested folders join the same playlist. Library recents get you back to this morning’s export dump. An optional local soundtrack can sit under still autoplay. Core viewing needs no account and no cloud library.

Small on purpose

1087 KB is the size of a focused viewer, not a photo library. Vistaro does not rewrite your files. Zoom, rotate, and fit are for looking. If the job is “open this folder and walk it,” you are in the right app. Local-first is literal: no analytics SDK in the binary; purchase and optional crash reports go through Apple. The privacy policy (28 August 2026) covers image and video, Library recents, and remembered playback speed as on-device preferences.
